Beginners quickly become Pros
Users who are just learning music will be able to practice naming notes on the piano and on the staff.

Sharpen your ears
The ear training section provides many challenges for the more advanced student. It takes a sharp ear to identify altered dominant chords and modal scales quickly. For jazz musicians we’ve included the modes from the melodic minor scale and all kinds of extended chords. There is even a tempo quiz to identify beats per minute by assigning a number to a click track.

Increase your skills by competing with others
Various exercises propel you to higher scores, which you can post to compete for top ratings. Who will be #1 in the world this month? Could be you!

Pros and cons of Music Theory Pro app for iPhone and iPad

Music Theory Pro app good for

I really like this app. Its nice to practice a little in the go. The only issue is that it crashes everytime I finish an exercise. I hope this gets fixed !
This is a very well designed app, and it is hard to see how anyone interested in learning music will regret spending $1. Ive used it in the last weeks to learn more about scales, and it is a perfect match with atheory book, as you can hear the scales, practice and ge more information. A few suggestions for an update: either remove the ovation when the score is high, or allow users to remove it, gets boring and distracting after a while. Also for the ear training section, what about repeating the scale when the answer was wrong and then playing the right one? Even a graphic sample of both wrong/right answers would be very helpful. It would also be great to have samples of music where the different scales are used. Maybe a link to a website with more in-depht info? Great work!
I love this app. I have used it every day since I bought it for a measly dollar. I want to learn sight singing and this is the best tool I have found yet. I agree that the applause is distracting.
I like everything about this except the loud, annoying applause. Please let us toggle it away.
If your a guitarist who have already studied theory or studying it now than this is the app for you. I think that there should be what each note sound like in ear training.
I use it every day, Its a good app and works well in most areas. It would be great if - the note recognition would have an adjustable range. Its too simple. Needs more range. - if in the key recognition area the key info (circle of fifth) could be switched off. Its too easy to count instead of look at the key signature - interval recognition. Same as notes, needs more range. Add compound. - chords, add chord inversions - Ear Training / Intervals. Setup doesnt work. If I select for example P5 and P8 it also gives me TT ??? - Ear Training / Scales, would be great to play the scales Implement all that, and yes, of course charge some extra $ for it, the app is great already and worth the money, extra functionality, some more cost is OK. Definitely one of the best theory training apps out there.

Some bad moments

I just bought the in-app purchase in this application. After the purchase, nothing changed… That is NOT professional at all. Besides, the last update show a new design, but already looks so old-fashioned and so far from iPad standards! In conclusion, Im so disappointed
this is not a bad app for its price. my only wish is that it had the option to add the letters to the keyboard keys.
I know its just a buck, but its my buck. I wanted to learn theory. If you are a beginner and do not already know notes then this is not for you. If you dont mind droning repetition as a means to learn through incessant trial and error then this app is for you. This is really geared towards those who have the knowledge already and just want practice.
Seems like since the last update that the screen size doesnt adjust to an iPhone anymore and the program is not usable anymore because some of the buttons are off the screen.
I was looking for an app that would show me diminished and half diminished chords and all I got was an app that wanted me to name the chord. This does not help me to read the IReal book. When I tried to contact the company to ask how to find it or how to properly use app. The bars in front only allow me to give a review. So here it is. I want my money back.
I have an iPhone 4S and the app wont play sound on it. How am I supposed to do ear training with no freaking sound? Fix this!
