In-app purchase unreachable

I just bought the in-app purchase in this application. After the purchase, nothing changed… That is NOT professional at all. Besides, the last update show a new design, but already looks so old-fashioned and so far from iPad standards! In conclusion, Im so disappointed

Great App!

I really like this app. Its nice to practice a little in the go. The only issue is that it crashes everytime I finish an exercise. I hope this gets fixed !

Not bad, could be better

this is not a bad app for its price. my only wish is that it had the option to add the letters to the keyboard keys.

A good app

Easy and effective

Seems good

Cant hurt; thats for sure.

Awesome

Fantastic for anyone at any level. I use this app everyday!!

Very good app

This is a very well designed app, and it is hard to see how anyone interested in learning music will regret spending $1. Ive used it in the last weeks to learn more about scales, and it is a perfect match with atheory book, as you can hear the scales, practice and ge more information. A few suggestions for an update: either remove the ovation when the score is high, or allow users to remove it, gets boring and distracting after a while. Also for the ear training section, what about repeating the scale when the answer was wrong and then playing the right one? Even a graphic sample of both wrong/right answers would be very helpful. It would also be great to have samples of music where the different scales are used. Maybe a link to a website with more in-depht info? Great work!

Monotone teaching style

I know its just a buck, but its my buck. I wanted to learn theory. If you are a beginner and do not already know notes then this is not for you. If you dont mind droning repetition as a means to learn through incessant trial and error then this app is for you. This is really geared towards those who have the knowledge already and just want practice.

Sight sing

I love this app. I have used it every day since I bought it for a measly dollar. I want to learn sight singing and this is the best tool I have found yet. I agree that the applause is distracting.

Can the ovation

I like everything about this except the loud, annoying applause. Please let us toggle it away.

Its a tester, not a teacher

There isnt any instruction or reasons. Just questions and answers. If you dont know theory then this is not for you. Good for intermediate and up or as a supplement to learning music theory elsewhere.

Great way to stay sharp

If your a guitarist who have already studied theory or studying it now than this is the app for you. I think that there should be what each note sound like in ear training.

good app, needs some improvements though

I use it every day, Its a good app and works well in most areas. It would be great if - the note recognition would have an adjustable range. Its too simple. Needs more range. - if in the key recognition area the key info (circle of fifth) could be switched off. Its too easy to count instead of look at the key signature - interval recognition. Same as notes, needs more range. Add compound. - chords, add chord inversions - Ear Training / Intervals. Setup doesnt work. If I select for example P5 and P8 it also gives me TT ??? - Ear Training / Scales, would be great to play the scales Implement all that, and yes, of course charge some extra $ for it, the app is great already and worth the money, extra functionality, some more cost is OK. Definitely one of the best theory training apps out there.

The best music theory app available!

This is by far the best music theory app available. For the same price that you would pay for a note trainer app or an interval trainer app you get it all. Learn: - note names on the staff and the keyboard - major and minor key signatures - intervals - chords - ear training for tempos, intervals, scales & chords The app works great and the author responds quickly to questions / feedback. Update: unfortunately it looks like this app has been abandoned - still works but I dont think any of the suggested updates are going to happen.

Awesome

Really helpful for keeping up with theory in school. Thank you!

Best one

I have tried many music training apps, but this one is by far the best, and at a great price too.

Great!

This App is great, if you get an answer wrong, it provides the correct answer right away. The only drawback for me is that its better for students who actually know the answers, than it is for those learning. An improvement would be to introduce the material without the test, go over wrong answers at the end. Still by far the best App of this kind anywhere! It allows you to limit the questions and even the variety.

My one stop theory resource

No more bulky books, no more having to make my own interval recordings, no more fishing around for online theory trainers that never work well. As Ive been prepping for university theory classes this fall, this app has turned into my best friend. Its laid out so nicely. Theres no fumbling around to do what I want to do. When I had a question the designer answered me within an hour. Value like this is hard to come by!!!

Issues and bugs

The settings are not able to be changed besides the on/off sliders, and when you get a question wrong it doesnt give you the right answer all the time. It would be nice if you added video lessons on the topics the games quiz you on. For example a lesson on key signatures or a lesson on intervals, etc.

Great app!

I love the MusicTheoryPro app! I was told that you need to have some music theory background for it, but not so, if you use Dr. Joel Clifft’s great complementary and very clear tutorials on the website! The design and graphics of both are really beautiful, making the app a pleasure to use. I like how you can vary the many settings for each game to practice just what you are after. The immediate feedback is great (no extra buttons to click for the correct answer), and while I am not competitive with others (an option with the app), I like getting my score and time, so I can work to improve on my past performance. I’ve just been using this app for a few days, and already my piano playing is better because of it. I’m sure I’ll be working with this for a long time to come.
